Research at the Materials Center Leoben

The research programme of the MCL targets at the integrated simulation of materials and components along the whole value added chain and all length scales.

The MCL interprets research on the one hand as an illustration of the complete process chain from raw materials to development, forming, production, and service of components. On the other hand, our research is characterised by the examination of the materials and their properties from the atomistic to microscopic and macroscopic scales.

Research projects at the MCL are performed cooperatively with our research partners within the framework of the COMET K2-Competence Center MPPE "Materials-, Processing and Product-Engineering". Further scientific activities include EU-projects (link to MSP) and a variety of programmes like ECSEL (Electronic Components and Systems for European Leadership) or FFG (Austrian Research Promotion Agency) funded programmes like "Production of the Future".
