We have utilized our extensive knowledge for many years to conduct customer-specific seminars on a wide range of topics in the field of materials and testing technology.

The training courses offered in our seminar catalog are designed to enable you and your employees to deepen your professional know-how and give you another perspective on new or already familiar topics. All seminars are conducted by our technical specialists who work on specific tasks that are dealt with in our seminars on a daily basis. Thus, we can guarantee seminars that are on the pulse of time.

The seminars held in our laboratories at MCL in Leoben, are accompanied by practical demonstrations and exercises. Practical demonstrations can also be held directly at the customer's site by arrangement.

Electron Microscopy & Software Training

Course Venue: Materials Center Leoben, Austria

Course Overview:

  • Master the fundamental principles of electron microscopy and comprehend their functionalities. You will be working with the ZEISS GeminiSEM 450.
  • The course starts with a quick introduction to electron microscopy. Learn about the special features of field-emission (FE-) SEM and how to optimize imaging conditions for unique contrast based on the double-condenser design.
  • You will receive a theoretical introduction followed by practical hands-on sessions with the ZEISS GeminiSEM 450. The course is very interactive and we can address your individual requests. You can bring your own samples.
  • In addition, we will show you the latest software for image correlation and analysis.


Target Group: Researchers in Life Science. Basic experience in imaging is of advantage.

EDS & EBSD Analytics

Course Overview:

  • Master the fundamental principles of analytical microscopy and learn about the benefits of a correlative approach.
  • The course will focus on EDS and EBSD analysis in theory and practice.
  • The basics for sample preparation will be covered.
  • You will receive a theoretical introduction followed by practical hands-on sessions on the ZEISS GeminiSEM 450 with EDS and EBSD by Oxford Instruments. You can bring your own samples for EDS. If you want to bring also samples for EBSD, please contact us first.


Target Group: For researchers in materials science as well as lab technicians. Ideal for beginners and advanced users who want to refresh their knowledge.
